About The Launch

A vision shaped by lived experience, dignity, and community care.

Braxton Community Center is in its launch phase, introducing a future-focused nonprofit vision rooted in inclusion, accessibility, and compassionate support.

Mission

The mission is to build a community-centered organization that supports youth, families, and people with disabilities through future programs grounded in compassion, practical help, and dignity.

Launch Phase

This season is focused on storytelling, fundraising, and building the relationships needed to turn the center's vision into a sustainable reality.

Founder Story

Why Braxton Community Center was created.

Anthony Braxton was born with cerebral palsy and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. After losing his mother at a young age, he was supported by family who helped shape his strength, resilience, and determination.

He graduated high school with honors, earned a bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science from Wilmington University, and spent 13 years in Early Childhood Education supporting children and families. Those experiences inspired him to create The Braxton Community Center so youth, families, and people with disabilities can find support, dignity, and opportunity in one caring community.

Values That Guide The Work
